About Us

As a family physician with additional training in Preventive Medicine, Dr. Belisle’s specialty is health and wellness. She is experienced in dealing with illness and injuries, but firmly believes that preventing disease and promoting wellness are just as crucial. She enjoys working with individuals who are motivated to be healthy and happy. She likes to help people stay informed about traditional and non-traditional therapies, and takes an integrative approach to medicine.

Dr. Belisle’s approach to medicine took shape as a result of her personal and professional experiences. She was raised in Yarmouth with nine younger siblings, and now has three children of her own. In addition to a residency in Family Medicine, and a fellowship in Preventive Medicine, she completed a Master of Public Health and an Internship in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction. She was an Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine at the University of Vermont and was involved in teaching residents and medical students with the Family Practice Department at the Maine Medical Center. She also served as a medical advisor to the MaineHealth Learning Resource Centers and the statewide literacy program Raising Readers and the MaineHealth Employee Works on Wellness (WOW) Program. She writes regular columns for the Parent & Family newspaper and The Farmer's Almanac and their online publication.

     A Note from Dr. Belisle:

Thank you for visiting our website and for taking an interest in your health. I am glad you are here.

As a family physician with additional training in prevention and medical acupuncture, my specialty is personal well-being. I firmly believe that preventing disease is just as crucial as dealing with illness and injuries. I enjoy working with individuals who are motivated to live healthy, sustainable lives. I like to help people stay informed about traditional and non-traditional therapies, and take an integrative approach to medicine through my medical acupuncture practice.

My patients each continue to maintain a relationship with their primary care providers and other specialists.  I consider myself to be a part of their health care team.

If you have an illness or injury that requires attention or are interested in exploring integrative medicine as a means of finding health, please give our office a call at (207) 847-9393 or send an email to info@drlisabelisle.com.

We have office hours on Wednesday and Thursday morning, as well as select evenings and Saturdays.
